Our Story
J Paul Rosilez Winery began one fall day, at our once sheep ranch, in Lodi,Ca. We were crushing Chardonnay grapes that had been given to my wife and I from our veterinarian as a wedding gift. That year we produced 6 barrels of wine and we thought that was great. With the help of a local winemaker, we decided to expand production that next year and we soon grew to 80 barrels. The 99 vintage of Old Vine Zin, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot would become our first commercial bottling. The wines were showing great promise.
In 2002 we opened our first tasting room in a town called Lockeford, Ca four miles east of Lodi. The wine was received with great reviews. We were soon thinking of expanding the winery and moving to the central coast appellation. After much disappointment to the availability of winery property, the decision was made to move the new winery to Paso Robles at our current location. The tasting room in Lockeford was closed in 2004 and we were anxious to move and get started with our new venture. Five years after the purchase of the property we were finally able to open our doors Zinfandel Weekend in 2007. Our guests were impressed with the winery and the wines. We have hosted guests from every state and from numerous other countries, and our wine club has grown beyond our expectations.
